  • I took the 2 first lessons the same day. (I didn't remember I subscribe! ☺).
I get a little problem: my old piano needs to be tuned (and mended, surely!) - but no money..). So it's a little bit hard to play the "high" C.; and so, hard to play regularly. I can practise anyway! Thanks a lot again!

And my main ambition is to play the “Amelie” song. In How many I can learn it?
I look forward to hearing from mr Thomas.

Many thanks Thomas for sharing your knowledge and expertise in playing piano. My late Dad is a pianist too but unfortunately never got the chance to teach me, as I grew up with my grandparents far from my parents. I'd like the way you teach us coz it is very precise and clear. Looking forward to our next lesson.

  • Hi Thomas, Thank you for the course! I'm Will based in mainland China. I have a light problem that it takes me years to load the video that you send no matter with or without VPN. And I'm sure there is no problem with my network. Is there any other way I can get access to the video? Thank you!

  • Hi Thomas,I'm on my second free lesson.I am I I interested in your technique. Your approach is bite size that I can follow and practice on without being buried under all the technicalities of how to play a piano.I know I gave to learn those eventually but it helps to learn on the simple steps first to help us struggling beginners .You take your time and with repetition, it really help" us beginners " understand hand placement while trying to concurrently memorize the appropriate notes. We do appreciate your dedication to teach and share your skills.I am older and have problems with my hand flexibility, coordination and endurance so I usually quit before I finish the lessons I have taken before. I also have Carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands so my hands starts tingling then it gets numb in 15 mins of constant practice. With your lesson, I was able to take short breaks and go back if I have time.I would love to finish all your free lessons first before I formally subscribe. I have bad habits of subscribing to a program then being lazy to follow thru which is a waste of money.I work in another city for 8 hours plus 2 hours total drive home daily ,just drain me out at night so I 'am just being honest as far as time commitment..I sincerely Thank you again!

  • Shannon Moreino says:

  • Thomas
Thanks for your reply. I really like your teaching approach and I am learning a lot.
    I have some Questions....
1- The Piano package program that you are offering for $96 does it includes hard copy books?
2- If yes , what are some of the song included in your program?
3- How do you provide the piano lessons, is it through your website or videos ?
4- Do you teach how to read music notes and play the piano at the same time?
5- The VIP card, is that unlimited?
Hope to hear from you soon!

  • Thank you Thomas for my second lesson I appreciate that& God bless you.

  • Thanks for this tutorial.. I'm really glad to be here

  • Christallin Johnson-Smith says:

I really enjoyed the extra slow pace you took with this C Major scale. I took piano lessons for many years as a child but I stipped at about age 18. I'm 59 now and relearning everything. I am relearning how to read music, I remember a lot; but I also enjoy your method. The way you went so slowly was excellent. It's important to develop proper form and memory. I found this repetitive emphasis very helpful . Thank you and God bless you Thomas.

  • Ravi Shankar says:

    Hi Thomas,

Hey, thanks a million for your lessons.

  • I have trouble with my ring finger it doesn’t stay up when Ido my first lesson.what can I do?

  • Ishaan Kumar says:

    Hi Thomas
    It’s me Ishaan Kumar
I really enjoy your lessons . Thank u so much

  • Why do we start at C and not at A? Illogical, bugged me since I was a child and part reason I abandoned music as teacher never avle to explain.

  • David Forrester says:

    Considering a subscription

  • Thank you for my second lesson today and the encouragement to play all of the notes with the same pressure. I am using an inexpensive keyboard (have to see if I can to this before purchasing a real piano), and all of the notes sound like the same pressure with little difference if I push hard or not so hard. Is this just normal with keyboards? :>) Janice

  • Vaibhav Sati says:

  • Thank you so much for today, now I keep practicing to get smooth sound..

  • I really enjoyed my 2nd lesson cant wait for tomorrow thank you

  • Great lessons, Thomas! As always I love your teaching method and style. Fantastic for a beginner like myself.
    Thanks!

  • Great piano lessons thank you.

  • Hi! I love you way of teaching.

  • Robert Godwin says:

I enjoyed your first two lessons. I can play the C scale (one octave) and then I like to swing it. Also I find to strengthen finger 5 I play thumb-1-2-4-5 up and down starting on C and then repeat starting on D and so on up the piano. Note: finger 3 is missing (ha ha).

I am looking forward to your next lesson. Recently I wrote out ten C chords and then C# chords followed by D and so on up to C. By doing this, if the two Cs were different I knew I had made a mistake.

  • Thank you very much for your useful lesson.

    Le Kim Ngan

  • Elizabeth Sherk says:

I enjoyed your presentation of C major scale with seven tones out of which innumerable melodies can be composed or improvised. I wonder whether you have considered suggesting that practicers SING
those seven pitches up and down, not just speak them. I love the instruction that 100 repetitions of even toned playing of the 7 notes with the fingers of the R H., 1,2,3,1,2,3,4,5 does not take very long, but is essential to mastering Lesson number 2. I look forward to lesson #3.

    • Thomas Forschbach says:

      Hello Elizabeth,

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the presentation on the C major scale. Your suggestion about singing the pitches is a fantastic idea and indeed, singing can deepen our connection and understanding of the notes. I'll certainly keep that in mind for future lessons. I'm pleased to hear you value the importance of repetition in mastering the technique. Your dedication and insight are commendable. Looking forward to sharing lesson #3 with you!

      Warm regards,
      Thomas

  • Hi Teacher,
Thank you very much for lesson 2.
I look forward to lesson 3.
    Regards
    Dim

    • Thomas Forschbach says:

      Hi Dim,

You're very welcome! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed lesson 2. Your enthusiasm is appreciated, and I'm excited to continue this journey with you. See you in lesson 3!

      Best regards,
      Thomas

  • Jane Flournoy says:

    Mr. Forschbach

This piano lesson is almost exactly what I needed! I know the notes and their names, but this helped me remember them a little better. Thanks!

    • Thomas Forschbach says:

      Hello Jane,

I'm delighted to hear that the lesson resonated with you and helped reinforce your knowledge of the notes. It's always wonderful to provide that extra clarity and boost. Thank you for sharing your feedback, and I'm here to assist you further on your musical journey.

      Best regards,
      Thomas Forschbach

  • Arnold Taylor says:

    Hi Thomas,
I just finished watching my second lesson and I couldn’t be more pleased.
Now I understand why you say with your teaching method you will progress so much faster. Yes I want to learn to play songs but I would rather learn how to play the piano first.
    Thank you for the opportunity.
    Arnold

    • Thomas Forschbach says:

      Hi Arnold,

Thank you for sharing your experience after the second lesson. It's great to hear that you're pleased and recognizing the benefits of the teaching method. Building a solid foundation in piano playing is indeed crucial before diving into songs. Your dedication and approach are commendable. I'm honored to be part of your musical journey, and I look forward to our continued lessons together.

      Warm regards,
      Thomas

  • Thank you for opening up my world. I played piano years ago, but discontinued for raising my children. Wasn’t sure how much I remembered until I started on the 2nd lesson. My piano key board came to me yesterday and I am very excited once again. Lesson 1 and 2 was picked up very quickly but will practice, practice and practice some more for the smooth technique that I’m a little rusty on. Oh, my name is Margie and I live in Oregon U.S.A.

    • Thomas Forschbach says:

      Hi Margie,

It's truly heartwarming to hear your story. Welcome back to the world of piano! Life has its phases, and I'm glad you've found your way back to music. It sounds like the passion and foundation are still very much there. Oregon is a beautiful place, and I imagine it provides a serene backdrop for your musical journey. Remember, it's all about the journey and the joy it brings. Keep practicing and embrace every moment of rediscovery. Looking forward to accompanying you on this renewed adventure!

      Warm regards,
      Thomas

  • Heyy!
Im really surprised how much fun it is to practice the steps, even tho I master them so quickly and am pretty impatient waiting to the next day for a new practice ^^" I love this method! And it makes so much sense, I even try to do it blindly as a challenge and it works pretty well too! Thank you for doing this, you make so many people happy

    • Thomas Forschbach says:

      Hi Leandra,

Hey there! It's wonderful to hear that you're having so much fun with the practice steps and finding success even when challenging yourself to play blindly. Your enthusiasm and dedication shine through! I'm thrilled that the method resonates with you. Thank you for your kind words, and I'm honored to be a part of your musical journey. Let's keep the momentum going!

      Best wishes,
      Thomas

  • Irabor Sunday says:

You're good at the teaching. I feel I will be able to learn through you. Thanks.
Please which piano do I buy as a beginner?
I need one to enable me follow the practice proper

    • Thomas Forschbach says:

Thank you! Glad to hear that.
Today nearly all new pianos you can buy are good. A great one for Beginners is Yamaha P-45 or also Roland FP-30.
If you have a little more budget any Yamaha Clavinova is great!

  • Stephanie says:

Thank you! I think it will take a while to build up the strength in my fingers. I can feel it also in my wrist. Enjoyed this very much. I like the simplicity of the lessons.

    • Thomas Forschbach says:

      Hello Stephanie,

Thank you for your feedback! I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying the simplicity of the lessons. Building finger strength and wrist flexibility is definitely a gradual process, so it's great that you're mindful of it. Remember, consistent practice is key, and it's important to take breaks if you feel any discomfort. If you have any questions or need guidance on technique, don't hesitate to reach out. Keep up the good work!

      Best,
      Thomas
