Any solution? #until now i can play songs like sugar, payphone, counting stars, etc but i dont know wht i push.. Which chords etc.. I just follow the youtube by synthesia.. Hello there! Just went through the 1st lesson. I am thinking no way this is all there is to it 😉 I'm willing to stick with it though and see how serious it gets. When I played the C Chord my index finger was sticking out and up. I kept trying to keep it curled under but it had a mind of it's own lol. Is this okay or do I need to keep working at keeping in curled under or at least not sticking out so much?
Pretty simplistic. Just the "c" chord for an entire lesson? I really like you though, and love the accent.

Hey, Thomas I play the flute and it's a lot of fun by my parents asked me if I wanted to take piano lessons or flute lessons and I said I not sure I will think about it and my mom said she took flute lessons but she played the flute and she wished she took piano so I wanted to ask you what would you do if you played the flute but you had the option to take flute or piano lessons. As a kid I've always loved music, especially the piano, Hearing those pieces being played so fast and beautifully moved me a bit on the inside, each and every time again. I would have loved to play myself, be able to bring that feeling onto others. Too bad we did not have the financial requirements for music lessons, and my parents weren't too keen on music-making.
Now, many years later, I realised how important music still is to me, and now I got enough to make the ends meet.
so I finally set myself to learn the piano, thanks to you, and I will be forever greatful.

Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I am a single mom of 2 girls with one that has cancer. I work 18 hour a day 7 days a week. I was in badly need of a stress reliever or a diversion. I got inspired by Yurima's live performance of the river flows in you, i told my self i need to learn that, i found your tutorial video and in a week i learned it. Oh by the way i have no backround in music, i dont know how to read notes or chords, i only play by ear, but because of your enthusiasm and sincerity i was able to learn. Hi Thomas . Thanks for a great first lesson.. I noticed you used your left hand in the video.. is that the correct way to learn or are you left handed? I’ am right handed but I guess that doesn’t make any difference when learning to play ?

Just learned my first C3 chord tonight and I am already excited to go through this piano course with you. You are very encourageable and I look forward to learning to play piano again with your method. I was 9 yrs old when I started piano lessons, did 3 piano recitals but stopped at the age of 11. Since then I never played the piano again. I thought of taking piano lessons again but had a busy life with work, family and children. Now I am a grandma and would love to spend time playing the piano again. I have to start from the beginning since I don't remember anything anymore after all these years. I have just signed up to your 10 piano lessons and completed the first yesterday. I was already using your youtube tutorial and have learnt to play River flows in you by Yiruma! It was challenging but it’s my favourite. I am an absolute beginner at age 47
I have always wanted to learn piano since I was a little girl and finally I bought my first full size digital keyboard.
Your videos are helpful and you are very encouraging in them which motivates me to keep trying.
I wondered is it important to be able to read sheet music to play piano?
I have even watched some of your videos in german because I used to study german at school and was good at it( it was a long time ago though hahahha). I just wanted to see if I can pick up any words and I could.
Anyway, just came to say hi and excited for lesson number 2. I haven’t received it yet.

Hi. I took classical piano from the age of 5 to 15. I stopped because I couldn't play the songs I wanted to play and reading sheet music was always a struggle. I'm very interested in NOT having to read sheet music and convey the feeling of the music. Is it possible to learn piano and play songs without ever having to read sheet music? Or, do you use lead sheets?

How should I position my fingers, when playing chords

Thank you for your question regarding finger positioning for piano chords!
Relaxed Hand Position: Start with a relaxed hand. Imagine holding a small ball or an apple in your hand. This rounded shape is ideal for playing the piano, as it allows for flexibility and strength.
Use Your Fingertips: When pressing the keys, use the pads of your fingertips. This will give you better control and a clearer sound.
Thumb Position: Your thumb (finger 1) usually rests on the white keys, but depending on the chord, it might need to stretch to a black key. Ensure it remains flexible.
Wrist Level: Keep your wrist at a level that's roughly even with the keys. Avoid dipping or raising it excessively.
Finger Numbers: Remember the finger numbering system: Thumb is 1, index finger is 2, middle finger is 3, ring finger is 4, and pinky is 5. Different chords will require different finger combinations, so it's helpful to be familiar with this numbering.
Hand Rotation: Sometimes, you might need to slightly rotate your hand (like turning a doorknob) to comfortably play certain chords. This rotation can help prevent strain.
Practice Slowly: As you begin, take your time to position each finger correctly. With consistent practice, the positioning will become second nature.
